Never A Dull Moment

By Kris Berry

I’m Kris, wife of a superhero and a stay-at-home mom to three kids.  If you watched our introduction videos you likely heard (or saw) my kids yelling in the background!  I have 3 year old identical twin boys and an almost-18 month old daughter.  I’ve been a full time stay-at-home mom since the boys were about 6 months old.  My kids keep me busy and I’m truly enjoying watching them grow and learn.  It’s honestly the toughest job I’ve ever had (I know that sounds cliché) but it’s been worth it!  I feel like I’ve learned so much about myself by being a mom.

My Three Monkeys

A few fun facts about me:

* I’m a coupon addict.  I love rolling extra care bucks at CVS, combining coupons and sales, and stretching a dollar.  I can talk about deals all day!

* I’m running my first marathon this October.  I’ve run (I use that term loosely) since college for exercise but I ran my first 10K a year ago and have been hooked on road races since!

* I love reading decorating blogs, watching HGTV, and daydreaming about ways I can decorate our house.  I also love poking around thrift stores for things to repurpose in our house.

* I like to pretend I’m crafty although my execution of all-things-crafty would probably make Martha Stewart faint.

As a family, we enjoy going on “adventures.”  The kids love to explore local farms, zoos, museums, play spaces, and outdoor spaces.  I can’t wait to share some of our favorite local spots with all of you!  It’s been fun for me (a transplant from Connecticut) to explore our local area with my kids.  My kids and I enjoy crafting, baking, and having dance parties.  They are planting their first gardens this year and, even though I have the furthest thing from a green thumb, they are excited to watch their vegetables grow…keep your fingers crossed that something grows!

I found out about Signature Moms Blog one night while reading Kidding Around in bed.  It was actually a total fluke because I often don’t have a chance to read and had decided I was going to take the time that night.  The article about the blog really peaked my interest.  I had made a resolution this year to find something that provided a bit of a creative outlet for me.  I thought the blog was a perfect opportunity.  I really liked that it was tied to Signature Healthcare.  My boys were in the Level 2 Nursery at Brockton Hospital for 12 days after they were born due to their small size (4 lbs 1 oz and 3 lbs 13 oz).  They were given such great care there, and my husband and I were treated so well.  I feel like I never have been able to truly thank or give back to the community that helped us out when we needed it.  I hope that, through the blog, I might be able to reach parents who might be in a similar situation.

I am really looking forward to sharing a bit of my family life with all of you!  It’s loud, hectic, cluttered, and often times messy but it’s really fun.  I feel very honored to be a part of this project and a part of such a phenomenal group of women!

  1. I’d love to learn which Marathon you’re running in October, I might look into running that one too. Since having children it’s proven difficult to fit in any type of excercise, but running you can do whenever you have a free moment. I ran my first road race a few years back and have been hooked ever since.

  2. Thanks everyone! Hilary, I’m running Baystate in Lowell. http://www.baystatemarathon.com/ I’m nervous but totally excited! I’m sure I’ll do a post on running as a mom, it’s really been a life-saver for me to have running. It took me a while to figure out how to fit it in but, as I’ve learned, I can’t be as good a mom as I want to be if I’m not taking care of myself! Keep running and let me know if you sign up for Baystate!
