Hmmm . . . where do I start? Well, my name is Kristen Clifford. I’m 26 years old and I’m the mother to 3 kids under the age of 3! I have a 2.5 year old named Grace and 5 month old twins, Emma and Carter.
My husband, Cole, and I have been married for 4 years this coming September, but we’ve been together for 10 years! We started dating in high school and decided to go off to college together in Connecticut. Cole and I moved back to MA got married, had kids, and both of us stopped working in our fields! I was a maternity nurse before having kids and Cole was a middle school history teacher. I currently stay home with the kids, while Cole works between 1-3 jobs depending on whether it’s hockey season or not!
I try to stay busy with the kids between gymnastics, dance, and other activities. I often like to start craft projects like scrap booking, knitting, bow making, but I seldom finish any of my projects. I usually get distracted or just don’t have the time I’d like to focus on them. I like to take pictures and often take way too many, just ask my facebook friends…I probably put up 10-15 new pictures daily!
I enjoy the simple things in life and it’s really the little things day to day that make me happy. Some days a simple ice coffee or the warm sun on my face is all I need to keep going! My life is pretty chaotic at times, but I’d like to think it’s an organized chaos.
Being a mom of 3 makes it difficult most days to find the time and energy to connect to other moms. This is where the internet has become my lifeline! The internet on most days is my only connection to adults and the outside world. I have met lots of great people and friends through message boards, blogs, facebook, and many other internet groups. I not only use the internet for simple things, like figuring out what to make for dinner, but I also use it for support. When I was having a hard time getting pregnant before the twins I found other women who were in the same situation and we were able to lean on one another for support. The same things happened when I found out I was expecting twins, and again when the twins were born 5 weeks premature. Having the internet to connect to other moms in similar situations has at times helped to ground me and make me feel like my situation is normal and that there is light at the end of whatever difficult tunnel I face at the time.
It is this strong connection to the internet that made me apply for the Signature Moms contest. I never in a million years thought I would be picked, but thought it’d be fun to try. I’m so happy and excited to start out on this new journey with the 7 other moms. I look forward to getting to know you all!
